Avoiding Hit-and-Run Accidents

Hit-and-run is prevalent these days. The drivers feel that they can escape the scene and they will never be caught. But fleeing an accident scene without giving assistance or help to the victim will cause you more harm than good. If you are the driver, it is best to face the consequences whether it is your fault or not.



Hit-and-run is fatal. Here in Singapore, there are many crashes every year. There are many cases where the victim died instantly. If you are lucky, you will only suffer minor injuries but you should file a complaint so the driver will not be that careless in the future. Here are some things that you can do to avoid being a victim of hit-and-run:

1.       Tell the driver to pull over

When you collided, the first thing that you should do is ask the other driver to pull over so you can exchange information. Pulling over is important so you will not impede other people. Before going out to talk or make arrangements, make sure to note the license plate of the other.

2.       Get your pen, notepad, camera or mobile phone

3.       Note the description

Aside from the license plate, you should note the description of the car. If you established a description, the driver will surely be apprehended in time. You also need to note where the car is headed so you can give detailed descriptions.

Of course, it is better if you do not encounter or be involved in a collision but then again, you can never tell. You are too careful but the driver is not. It is bound to happen so it is better to be prepared.hit-and-run
